Melfort has superb facilities for our citizens and visitors. The Northern Lights Palace, rink and swimming pool complex, is a first rate facility rivaled by few others. It contains an 1,800-seat arena and a swimming pool with a water slide and wave technology, one of only a few in the entire province. The Kerry Vickar Centre is a multi-purpose facility, which contains the CJVR Performing Arts Theatre, the Sherven-Smith Art Gallery and Swartout Hall, which doubles as a gymnasium capable of accommodating indoor soccer. This building also includes the Affinity Credit Union Meeting Rooms as well as the Bourgault Board Room, which makes it an ideal convention center.
Melfort is famous for its volunteerism, as evidenced by its hosting of various events; these include Saskatchewan Summer and Winter Games, the Royal Bank Cup, and prestigious curling events such as the 2018 Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts Provincial Play Downs. Our city provides a quality of life that is second to none. We have quality health care facilities, which include our new Wellness Centre that is attached to the hospital and currently houses 12 physicians, a quality education system and a community that is growing from a commercial standpoint, as evidenced by the StoneGate shopping development.
