Mail-In Ballots

All eligible voters have the option to apply for a mail-in ballot.  Applications for mail-in ballots will be accepted starting Tuesday, September 8, 2020, and must be received by 8:00 pm on Election Day, November 9, 2020, in order to be counted.  Voters can apply for a mail-in ballot from home, or in-person at City Hall during regular business hours - Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Mail-in Ballot kits will arrive in the mail in mid-late October.  If you don'Vote Melfortt receive your ballot, please call the City Clerk at 306-752-5911.
 
Non-In-Person Applications

To avoid in-person contact, voters can apply for mail-in ballots by e-mail, fax or mail.  To apply:
  • Print, fill out and sign a Voter's Registration Form in the presence of an Eligible Witness who will verify your photo ID and witness your signature.  If your witness is a family member, someone living at the same address as you, or a neighbor, the voter is required to submit a copy or picture of the witness's government-issued photo ID with the application package
  • Submit your signed Voter Registration Form (front and back), a copy of your Photo ID that contains your signature (e.g. driver's license), and a copy of your witness's photo ID (if applicable) either:

If your application does not meet the identification requirements or is insufficient or illegible, applicants will be asked to submit their application in person.

Applying In Person

Starting Tuesday, September 8, 2020, you may apply for a mail-in ballot in person at Melfort City Hall, 202 Burrows Avenue West.  When you apply, you must bring an acceptable form of identification, either:

  • a government-issued photo ID that shows your name and address (e.g. valid driver's license), OR
  • two other pieces of identification - one that shows your name and another that shows your name and address (e.g. passport plus a utility bill).
